Amazon Prime FTC Settlement is Open

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has secured a huge $2.5 billion settlement with Amazon over allegations that they enrolled millions of consumers into Amazon prime subscriptions without their consent and intentionally made it very difficult to cancel.

Payments will be paid out in two ways:

Automatic Payment Group

You are eligible for an Automatic Payment if:

1. You are a U.S. consumer who signed up for Prime between June 23, 2019 and June 23, 2025, and

2. You enrolled through a Challenged Enrollment Flow – The Challenged Enrollment Flows are: Universal Prime Decision Page (UPDP), Shipping Option Select Page (SOSP), Prime Video enrollment flow, and Single Page Checkout (SPC), and

3. You used no more than three Prime benefits in a 12-month period from June 23, 2019 and June 23, 2025.

If you qualify for this automatic payment group, you will be compensated up to $51. These payments will go out within 90 days of the court order, which is December 24, 2025.

Claims Process Payment Group

You are eligible for a Claims Process Payment if:

1. You are a U.S. consumer who signed up for Prime, and

2. You unintentionally enrolled in a Prime membership through a challenged enrollment method at issue in the FTC’s lawsuit from June 23, 2019 – June 23, 2025; or you tried to cancel your Prime membership through the online cancellation process from June 23, 2019 – June 23, 2025, but were unable to do so; and

3. You used less than ten Prime benefits (e.g., delivery, shopping, streaming, reading, and other benefits provided to Prime members) during any 12-month period of enrollment in Prime, and

4. You did not receive an automatic payment as part of this Settlement already.

For consumers not eligible for an automatic payment, you may be eligible to submit a claim for payment. If you are eligible to submit a claim, you will receive a notice either by email or in the mail.

You’ll receive a payment of up to $51 once your form is accepted

All Amazon FTC settlement claim forms must be submitted or postmarked by July 27, 2026.
